Space... it's big

Did anyone else watch the shuttle launch last night? Last shuttle launch ever.

Well, it was AWESOME. It was the first spacecraft launch I'd ever seen, really, too. I mean, I've seen recordings, but I watched it live! Would've liked to be there, but Kennedy Space Center is a little outside my travel budget. Hell, any place I can't get to for $50 or less is out of my budget.

In related news, there's a total solar eclipse next year too. I'm DEFINITELY going to that. And maybe to a galaxy rise. I'd love that.

I've gotten right back into Symphony of Science too, gotta love Carl Sagan, and in song! Pretty amazing.

Funny stuff soon! Maybe I'll make a joke about boners, that seems to go over well with the internet.

Till later,

Hey There Internet Buddies!

Hello again readers, did you miss me?

My glorious resurrection is at hand!

Because I'm a freakin' phoenix

It has been a while since I posted. I refuse to defend myself for this, because I have previously said I am not great at timelines and I am fairly lazy. On to more interesting things!

I have procured a new motorcycle. It looks like this:
Me? Why yes, I am a badass
While being very cool looking and fairly imposing, it's actually not the best bike. BUT it was REALLY cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. I'll try as hard as I can not to rant about riding like I always seem to.

I have also procured a girlfriend! She is pretty cool, and pretty pretty. I'll show you a picture if she lets me sometime. At any rate, she is a scientist with a double degree and a gamer. I think I may have hit the jackpot.

At some point I have become very intrigued by Lovecraftian horror. I'm not sure this is great for my sleep (luckily I have a tiny girlfriend to cower behind when the fishmen come for me) but ITS SO DAMN GOOD. Well written and actually disturbing without resorting to just telling you the details of some gory crap. Along with the games about or inspired by his stories (Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Amnesia the Dark Descent), played in the dark, I honestly start to get scared. Colour out of Space? One of the best short stories I've ever read. For the uninitiated, or people who only heard about Great Cthulhu, High Priest of the Old Ones (Ia! Ia!) from South Park, he looks like this, more or less.
Ia! Ph'nglui Mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh Wagh'nagl Fhtagn! Ia!
and for an idea of scale, that's an island hes standing on, not a rock. (or at least, he's supposed to be immense) I feel that displays his appearance best, but for the soul crushing despair necessary see here:
*unimaginable sound of horror*
So while Cthulhu and the Old Ones slowly consume my soul, I pretty much just go about day to day life, but a little more fearful each day of the approaching madness that will eventually overwhelm me.

In the meantime, I'll try to make up remember a few odd stories to share. Maybe draw something, I don't know.

Hopefully I haven't completely let you down and I hope you'll hear from me again soon!

I know I'm off to a bad start

I've just noticed I have an inordinate amount of views from the Netherlands, so a big "Hallo en bedankt voor het lezen" to those guys. Now I realise that three posts on one day wont make up for my month or so of absence, but I will have a real post up tomorrow, promise. To try to help you forgive me, here's a picture of a kitten being cute
Sorry!
That's gonna have to sate you 'til tomorrow. Night!

In a bizarre twist, a man with the arms of a bear. Enjoy

I'll be back online soon I promise!

Ok, hey there peeps.

Now I am well aware that I disappeared off the radar for a while there, and for that I apologize, but the housemate who owned the internet moved out so I am internetless till we (the remaining housemates) move and put internet on at the new house, because I'm not paying $300 in reconnection fees for a months service.

So, until that point I will be light on the posts. Sorry, but it's just the way it has to be. I may get one of those little portable broadband things though, and if I have the bytes spare, you may get lucky! And you might get to read one of my posts. Double trouble. Good news is, I should be ripe with little stories and anectdotes when i return, so look forward to that.

Ciao Amicos, for now.

Stir Crazed!

So, I've pretty much just been sitting around at home slowly healing, dealing with hospitals, insurance, work and motorcycle repair people, reading comics and playing video games. None of this is very exciting and as you may have guessed I'm going a little stir crazy. I've taken up pacing as a serious pastime. I'm wearing a nice little track into the carpet. Other than that, I've begun having really cool dreams.

The first of which involved me being stabbed (bear with me) with a coin, among other things (as in: other things happened, not I was stabbed with other things). Now, there is actually some context to this. I was, in this dream, a hero of some sort. Super or not, I didn't know. Some other random heroes (some super) and I ran a Hero academy somewhere and we were being attacked by a villain and I was the only one who could defeat him. We battled for a bit and somehow this culminated into him slamming a coin (shaped like a dollar coin, but larger) into my chest and embedding it there.
This being the location, size and orientation of the aforementioned coin
This proved to be too much to handle and I fell/went flying through the air (it was a dream, it was vague) over near a pot plant (I'm not sure why I remember this specifically) and died... Or so I thought! I woke up shortly (in the dream) feeling like I was DEFINITELY going to die. My apparent death invigorated my team mates and they fought off the villain with ease. Then went inside to mourn me while I lay on the ground near a pot plant, playing with grass and waiting to die. After a while of this (it must've been half an hour?) I got sick of it and decided to live. Following this decision I got up, ripped the coin out of my ribs and went back to work while holding my wound.

it was in this condition from being slammed into my ribs, which are apparently tough.
At some point afterwards for some reason I beat up some snooty secret service type who was trying to tell me how to run my business with a chair. Not wrestling style, just a regular dinner chair. I think he was 'protecting' some kid who I didn't want to teach anyway. I don't remember. the rest didn't involve getting stabbed.

The next dream and also the following night, I dreamt that Ben Stiller, Tom Cruise and I were secret agents/commandos. We were called to a top secret American military base for some sort of test for a top secret program of secretiveness, or something. Anyway, the trials were hardcore. I remember we were almost killed every minute and a half or so, and I also remember climbing up a tube that was constructed like a mouse tube, with little ribs for us to grab on to to climb. We ended up in a huge cliff base somehow and we had figured out (also somehow) that the government who'd hired us was trying to kill us, maybe we were being punished for something, maybe they were actually training the guards against us (who we had killed hundreds of by now) or maybe something else, I don't know. All I know is that they wanted us dead.

We'd devised a plan to escape with minimal losses and time using a helicopter that was conveniently sitting on a helipad on the side of the cliff. I'm not sure where Ben Stiller was at this point, maybe dead, maybe on the way to the rendezvous, as we had split up to do a few parts of the plan. The General decided we were far too much trouble though and decided to let us escape (not sure how I knew that) even with what we had learned, So I sort of strolled through the corridors to the helipad, opening the various doors Tom (and maybe Ben) needed me too and we escaped. Around this time I woke up.

I've condensed these and left out a lot of detail cos they're actually really long and complex stories. On another note, check this out! A reasonable update time! Ill try to make it every week or two, just for something interesting. So, I guess I'll just leave you with my short computer advice for those of you reading this on a computer. If its not working, turn it iff and in again, and if that doesn't work, reverse the polarity. Fixes everything, trust me.
Universal polarity-reversing problem solver doesnt have the same ring

I'm not dead yet!

I'm back!

I'm not ready to let this thing die and disappoint my one follower! I have/had still got a fair few things I want to say yet, but I have no real posting schedule, because it murders my creativity. So try to stay with me, and if you follow me, the internet gods will tell you when I make a new post (that's how the internet works right?) without having to check the page and be disappointed in my laziness. I have a few excuses though in this case. Excuse 1: I got hit by a car a few days before Christmas. More accurately, I hit a car, but seeing as it was his fault, I find it gets the gist across more quickly if I say I was hit. Now, you might see how that's a big deal since I ride a motorbike and hit someone when going 80 km/h, however I was lucky to only come out with this:

I didn't break my arm, just more or less shattered my thumb
and a fracture in my little finger on the other hand, along with all the scrapes and bruises you might expect from suddenly becoming a projectile. As you might imagine, I wasn't really in the mood (or condition for the first week or so) to do any posting. Excuse 2: Christmas. Being a shattered version of your former self doesn't get you out of family commitments. Excuse 3: Insurance. Any of you who've had to deal with claiming before, you may know how much of a pain it is, also removing the vital creative spark I need to make a half decent post about nothing.
And that's all I've got. Seeing as I've pretty much exhausted the motorcycle story and it's a bit redundant posting about how I was excited about Christmas coming soon like I'd planned to, I might just say that this year (2011) is a good year for games, for me at least. I've had a good year of 2010, but 2011 has already seen me finish Deus Ex, one of the greatest games of all time (not just an opinion, it got Game Of The Year 5 years in a row) and this year also (theoretically) sees BioWare releasing The Old Republic and Mass Effect 3, both of which are games I have been anticpating for a few years now. Not to mention Minecraft updating to Beta in the last few weeks! It's looking like once I'm free of my mother%$&ing cast it's gonna shape up to be a good year.

and that's all I have for now, so I'll leave you with the picture of the angel on our Christmas tree I was saving for my Christmas post
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Jolly Kwanzaa and Cheery New Year everyone!
