Space... it's big

Did anyone else watch the shuttle launch last night? Last shuttle launch ever.

Well, it was AWESOME. It was the first spacecraft launch I'd ever seen, really, too. I mean, I've seen recordings, but I watched it live! Would've liked to be there, but Kennedy Space Center is a little outside my travel budget. Hell, any place I can't get to for $50 or less is out of my budget.

In related news, there's a total solar eclipse next year too. I'm DEFINITELY going to that. And maybe to a galaxy rise. I'd love that.

I've gotten right back into Symphony of Science too, gotta love Carl Sagan, and in song! Pretty amazing.

Funny stuff soon! Maybe I'll make a joke about boners, that seems to go over well with the internet.

Till later,

Hey There Internet Buddies!

Hello again readers, did you miss me?

My glorious resurrection is at hand!

Because I'm a freakin' phoenix

It has been a while since I posted. I refuse to defend myself for this, because I have previously said I am not great at timelines and I am fairly lazy. On to more interesting things!

I have procured a new motorcycle. It looks like this:
Me? Why yes, I am a badass
While being very cool looking and fairly imposing, it's actually not the best bike. BUT it was REALLY cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. I'll try as hard as I can not to rant about riding like I always seem to.

I have also procured a girlfriend! She is pretty cool, and pretty pretty. I'll show you a picture if she lets me sometime. At any rate, she is a scientist with a double degree and a gamer. I think I may have hit the jackpot.

At some point I have become very intrigued by Lovecraftian horror. I'm not sure this is great for my sleep (luckily I have a tiny girlfriend to cower behind when the fishmen come for me) but ITS SO DAMN GOOD. Well written and actually disturbing without resorting to just telling you the details of some gory crap. Along with the games about or inspired by his stories (Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Amnesia the Dark Descent), played in the dark, I honestly start to get scared. Colour out of Space? One of the best short stories I've ever read. For the uninitiated, or people who only heard about Great Cthulhu, High Priest of the Old Ones (Ia! Ia!) from South Park, he looks like this, more or less.
Ia! Ph'nglui Mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh Wagh'nagl Fhtagn! Ia!
and for an idea of scale, that's an island hes standing on, not a rock. (or at least, he's supposed to be immense) I feel that displays his appearance best, but for the soul crushing despair necessary see here:
*unimaginable sound of horror*
So while Cthulhu and the Old Ones slowly consume my soul, I pretty much just go about day to day life, but a little more fearful each day of the approaching madness that will eventually overwhelm me.

In the meantime, I'll try to make up remember a few odd stories to share. Maybe draw something, I don't know.

Hopefully I haven't completely let you down and I hope you'll hear from me again soon!

To make up for Cthulhu. I like kittens, deal with it
